Time to get back in the water.

I have been out of diving for a while.
As in I'm still rocking a horse collar BCD and twin 72's with a conshelf XIV regulator.

My sons want to learn diving so its time to get back in the water.

Can anyone recommend good gear? Gear that will last, without unnecessary bells and whistles?

I was trained in the LAR-V and MK15 rebreather while stationed with SPECWAR. I hear civilians have rebreathers now. Can anyone recommend a good company that deals in rebreathers?

Thanks!

As far as recreational gear goes, I like Zeagle, Oceanic, ScubaPro, Cressi, Sherwood, all make good gear. Start your son with the basic OW course and then he can progress from there with more advanced certifications.

I can't help with rebreather advice. I've looked at them in the past but they are very expensive and I never felt I'd get enough use out of one to justify the cost.

1. Halcyon backplate and wing, Scubapro MK25/S600. Scubapro jet fins. Mine is 18 years old and bombproof.

2. Rebreathers try to kill you. KISS was good; donít know now. Halcyon makes them now. Then you have the standard Draegers.
