WPS Weapons Qual

I am currently training myself up for a WPS contract and was interested in seeing if anyone who has done the WPS Weapons Qual would be willing to help me with the course of fire and pull some triggers.

I just left Active Duty and am Sniper Qualified. I shoot on a regular basis (mainly 3 gun) and I know my way around pistols and rifles. I'm not asking you to baby me, I would just like to ensure I don't make a trip to Louisiana to start my PSS training and leave the first week because of a failed weapons qual.

If anyone in the Tampa, FL area is interested, beers after the range are on me. If not are there any type of drills I should conduct that would be helpful?

Thank you all for your time and help.

If you can draw from concealment and put 2 rounds in the A-Zone of an IPSC target from 25m in 3 seconds or less, you'll be fine.

For some people the M249 and M240 were more problematic than the pistol and M4. During the M4 equal in a class I was in about 30% failed the first round and everyone passed the 2nd time as I recall. I think if you feel comfortable around weapons and are proficient you will probably be fine. For some of the guys drawing from a holster concealed was a bit problematic. You may want to make sure you are comfortable with that.

Make sure you have a real solid base with the belt feds since there's very little room for error. By base I mean yourself tight to the gun. Just the basics.

Thank you for the information. If anybody still wants to meet up and just pull triggers here in Tampa let me know. Always looking for a new gun/gym buddy.

I went to a firing range near Tampa, with a friend.
They asked us to leave; the Barrett was a bit much for them.
We went to the phosphate mines, instead.
Pffftttt.....
