SDV News

SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team TWO was officially recommissioned on 08 March. While we were excited to get the word out, we were hoping it would not include this level of detail: https://www.yahoo.com/news/large-sub...201900396.html

I worked with ASDS a good part of four years while I was out there. I left in 2006--about a year before the battery fire. Pain in the ass to maintain, and thankfully that wasn't my job. It was/is a remarkable capability, and needs to be resurrected in some form or other.

Prior to the fire, we had just been certified for it to be used.. Thank God we decided to charge the batterys prjor to loading it on the submarine it was slated to go on. I was the SDO the day before, when we started the charge.
Very sad, as everyone at that Command usted their ass to make it work

My roommate at Senior Enlisted Academy was SDV guy. Damn the stories he shared.

Hopefully not too much operational detail. Just operating an SDV on a real world mission is a story in itself.
