I read 8-9 books a month with varied themes and even take breaks and read things like Pluto’s Republic. I look at it this way; it’s like reading a novel. I appreciate someone who does their homework on the subject they are writing about. Right now I am reading about a time traveler. I know everyone watches syfi and knows all about time travel. Any way, this new and aspiring author really gave it some thought and the preface started out by describing all the ways you could die trying to travel through time. One example is; we all know that the earth rotates around the sun. If you “blink” out to a different time, where will the earth be in regards to that time in its rotation…are you “lost in space”?

Regardless I despise shows like CSI where they say “the only rifle that can shoot through this glass would be a 30-08”! WTF is a 30-08? Oh, and by-the-by, my pellet gun can shatter that POS window!

I thought the first one was fun. Stupid, but fun. Someone in Hollywood asked "hey-- how could we remake Stallone's "Cobra"... but with modern effects and moral-relativist context?" And John Wick was born.

I liked the escapist/unrealistic personalities, and the escapist/unrealistic super-ninja fight sequences... because we all deserve a good escapist/unrealistic break from reality once in a while.

I'm looking forward to the second one. I bet I'll like it too. 'Course I grew up on Mack Bolan, so...

Saw JW2 on Fri. Pretty cool. Once the, uh, dogs were let loose in the last 1/4, it was kinda like 'we know exactly why the audience is here, so lets give it to them, all of it'. Love the 'sommelier', lol. I want my own. Best line: 'I have to ask one question: are you here for the pope?'.

I did like how he got truly fucked, used drugs to keep going, etc in the first one. They didn't bother in this one.

Fun stuff.

Holy crap! I forgot about those books. I read the hell out of them in middle school. Tried to do every book report on which ever I was reading at the time.

I need to find them for my boys to read.

FINALLY, available for rent or purchase at most digital outlets.

So I finally got my John Wick fix and it was definitely bad ass. I had a bunch of spoiler alert questions to ask, but didn't write the down. I will post them next time I watch it.

Watched them both today.
1) really good judo and ground game on display. You dint see that too often and it was a nice plus
2) the gun fu was, if not 100% realistic, fun and impressive.
3) the less Keanu talks, the better i like the movie
4) dear lord, HOW MANY henchman do the bad guys have and where do they come from???
5) not sure if both films having token female assassins was cool or cheesy
6) interesting little world they created with an international society of people and companies seemingly created to cater to the international assassination business with an economy based on gold coins...

cool stuff.

Thought #2 was not that good at all. Sure, a lot of action, but very lacking in plot/story. If all you are looking for is a movie with a lot of action shooting, and leave your brain at the door, then maybe an "Ok" movie, if even that. #1 was a good entertaining flick, but was dissapointed with #2.

Just watched #2. I agree with LP. Disappointing like the Matrix installments. Convoluted. Action without plausibility.

You watched a Kenau Reeves movie and thought your were gonna get plot or story? Watch it again while reading Gone with the Wind

Amazing coincidence that whenever John Wick is unarmed or out of ammo, all the armed henchmen forget they are armed and decide to rush him and fight him hand to hand, instead of shooting him.
