I like everything he is in. I'll watch it simply due to that.

However, it does look like it will be a fun one!

Coming to a theater near at the end of June.

A Deadpool sequel is coming out around the same time. Sequels generally suck, but these two should be pretty good hopefully.

This was easily going to be a trilogy. Looks like we're heading in that direction with this one too.

Finally got around to watching it. There were some great parts, cinematography, the stuck in traffic scene, Del Toro & Brolin putting in their usual awesome work, but the plot or most of the dialogue left me wanting. For my usual boring Saturday night, it wasn't bad, but I would have felt I wasted money to see it in the theater.

The sequel looks good from the trailer, but reading the premise from Wikipedia's entry has me worried the shark may well be jumped. Guess I'll find out in 3-4 years when I finally get around to watching that one.

I'm stockpiling alliteration and metaphors in preparation.

This.

The long title of the movie alone gives me pause...

"Gavin & KidA at the Movies." KidA will bitch about artistic aspects and observed scooter quotient, while Gavin will tell you what you really want to know. In alliterative metaphors.

I frequently disagreed with B5R's ideas about politics, but he was an excellent movie reviewer. Hopping into the Waywayback machine, I remember Doogie was pretty good at that, too. For a while I think our search function here was called Doogle after him.

I liked the movie. Watched it twice within 2 days just to make sure. I think a lot of the comments before demonstrate the diverse opinions a single movie can have among many different people.

Spoiler alert maybe????

I appreciate our Kate Mercer, not because I agree with her at all (I, like many, disliked and was bothered the character) but THAT'S the important aspect of the movie that keeps it together. I don't WANT to like every character. Why would I want to watch a movie where every character is perfectly fitted into my worldview with no drama or tension of any kind? Where they all mesh perfectly into a seamless body of cohesion with no issue? I think many of the people criticizing the movie don't realize how boring/unrealistic the movie would be without this tension. Also how unrealistic. Our coworkers don't always measure up to our expectations, right? How many times have you done a job, but had the one or two individuals on the team that you wish had a brain aneurysm before a significant mission? I think it's unrealistic to expect this movie's plot to work without any sort of tension especially since these 'main' two characters just joined without ANY knowledge of what's going on, were never really briefed, and especially since we expect law abiding officers, in which the FBI characters are prefect representations. Don't think many of the people criticizing the movie realize what it would really be like being in this situation.

I thought it was well done. I've seen enough of this world to know that these types of situations are more than real. It happens.

I'm going to watch it. Not that I think it's going to be a classic, but because I've been mentally masturbating for a couple of decades about going down there and bringing smoke on some of the barbarians that operate on and across our border.
