"What does one fish for with that stik and an open bale reel?"

Salt - Redfish, drum, trout, flounder
Fresh - Bass

Either - whatever eats the bait:)

"For those of us that booger up baitcasters."

They had some nice baitcaster combos but my daughter hasn't gotten the hang of them yet so these will allow me more time to fish than undo bird's nests. I'm actually partial to baitcast being that the majority my reels growing up were Penn or Shimano baitcasters.

Toledo Bend 2018 in the Books!

Awesome Toledo Bend trip this year. Timed the spawn, moon phase, and for most part the weather right. Stayed at Fin and Feather Lodge on Texas side on Hausen Bay. Caught lots of fish with my best around 7 pounds. I took 12 guys on trip and I came back with more money than I left with after winning one fruit jar tournament and taking big bass for week. Wish weíd caught a few bigger ones. Toledo Bend is on fire right now. I will be sneaking back several more times in the next couple weeks. One thing I didnít enjoy was having a boat trailer tire blow out in the middle of the Pendleton Bridge. Not fun.

The year I retired I went and spent three weeks at Amistad. Definitely some quality fishing down in that part of the country.

The only location on that list I have fished is Boley Lake. They stock it and the adjacent stream, Glade Creek, together. There is elbow room at the lake. The creek runs by a scenic grist mill at Babcock State Park.

Golden Trout are funny. Sometimes you can bounce powerbait right off their nose and they won't hit.

The lake is a killer place to fish from a canoe, no motors. You can slay them from a canoe with a Rooster Tail or Panther Martin spinner.

Figured I'd post this here. Somewhat relevant. <',(((>{
So.........I went ahead and pulled the trigger on my new house.
Just decided I wasn't going to purchase the house I've been living in for the last 4 years. Not going to make that commitment here in CT but must stay since my new business is really picking up. Liquidating a lot of assets I've been hanging onto for many years and getting ready to occupy a much smaller space. Not at all concerned. I spend most of my time at the shop and this will allow me to head offshore right from home.

Thanks guys. It's an 1984 Egg Harbor Sportfish convertible. Many updates. Including the CAT 3208 T's. 320 gals. Will get me to the Canyons on a fri. night and back to the dock sun. Hopefully with some Tuna :)
The silly couches are gone and I have a nice L shape sleeper for starboard and a high/low table and 2 swivel chairs to port. All the external teak trim has been glassed over and really sleeks it out. The only other immediate upgrades are an 8 rod holder rocket launcher over the bulkhead and I need to cut in a transom door before winter. Should be living onboard by mid April.

I know a guy, wink wink nudge nudge, that would be a decent 1st mate.

He is potty trained and brings his own liquor plus more for the Captain... :D

She looks awesome. Enjoy!

I must say that I'm truly flabbergasted. Certainly isn't unexpected, but still, surprising!

Congratulations, verily. You're going to have a blast in that thing. Downsizing will now be your mantra
