Book on Vulnerability Assessments

Fellow SOCnetters, as some of you know, I do homeland security consulting, specializing in critical infrastructure protection. In 2003, we reversed engineered CARVER, an SF offensive targeting tool used to attack enemy critical infrastructure to do SVA's

Over the last 8 years I have used this tool on some major projects to include introducing it to the food and Ag industry when we used it to do the SVA's for HSPD #9, food and ag. Many people across the country use it and have sought some literature about the tool.

I used to teach for a company that helped me write a book on using CARVER+Shock. You can go to my website to find the link to buy the book, or read more about it.

This is not an attempt to sell copies, but seek feedback. I think I have a .pdf copy if anyone wants to give me a no kidding review.

As always, thanks for your input.

TFG is a good friend and I also consider him a person I can turn to for advice on a variety of subjs. IMO he is the benchmark in regards to the subj matter of this book.

Reading it would be time well spent.

TFG,

Sir, I have no experience doing workups on vulnerability assessments. I noticed on the website that the description states that the book could be an asset for even novice readers. Would it still be beneficial to do some reading prior to picking my way through your book, or is it outlined in a way that even the most novice "users" can understand?

Understanding risk management helps, but the odd thing is that even "professionals" do not even understand the most basic doctrine. It starts from scratch. You of course can always ask questions here. PM me your email addy for the rough draft in .pdf.

I would be interested in a copy as well. Sometime convincing coworkers ( Docs, RNs, Medics) that we are at risk in times of crisis is mind numbing. They just dont get it.

There's the ticket. Good on this man.

TFG is too cool of a person to state anything, but fortunately he has a few assholes for friends.

If you are someone who has serious experience in security assessments, sure -- why not give him a PM for a copy of that PDF. But if your experience amounts to a year on a TWISS or WPPS contract, or you've got a decade behind the wheel of a patrol car, seriously? Just cough up the dough for a hardback copy. It'll last longer when you're reading it, and if you do get into this business, when you run into a client who is just too hardheaded to understand what you're telling him, it will be hefty enough to wop him upside the head with....

Nah, I'll just go ahead and support the man. I'm retarded now, so I just like to keep my mind as sharp as the marble it alway's has been Really, I was the FP officer of 3/160 for a couple years and was trained in vulnerability assessments by FLETC.

But the biggest deal, I think I might learn, support a man, and, if I am not totally a loser, maybe make a constructive comment.

But in the end, help a soldier.

P.S. and I want his John Hancock on it

That's my plan. I try to support family. I don't know how cool he is though. I read on the internet that he can be a prick. :)

TFG. I would like a .pdf copy. Normally I would go for the autographed copy but the timing and certain events leading to this timing: I set [almost Christmas] I shackle {cello, braces, braces} prevents me from spending much outside of deer urine and meat processing. I do promise a reply with one of the best short stories you may have seen in awhile.
