You know that Detroit would love to spoil it, but I doubt they have the ammunition to get it done.

If they win tonight they'll tie the Moneyball A's for the modern record. At this point I hope they go on a tear, win 10 more in a row to really put the record out of reach.

Thumbs up

Congratulations to Aaron Judge for hitting his 50th home run of the season, setting a new all-time MLB record for most homers by a rookie...

GO YANKEES!!!

Down 8-3 in the bottom of the 6th, the Cleveland Indians pull out the win 9-8 over the Yankees in 13 innings. This team is never out of a game.

Girardi blew it, should've gone to replay...that ball hit the knob of the bat and was caught by Sanchez which would have been the third out. Next pitch....grand salami..

Rain Man pitched a gem of a game and the offense got to Stras. Let's go Lester, keep the Mo and head back to Chicago up 2.

Kyle Hendricks is "The Professor", never heard him referred to as Rain Man. He was as good as he needed to be last night, not giving up a hit after the 2nd inning and only giving up 2 all game.

Strasbourg pitched a great game too, but you commit an error and open the door just a crack for the Cubs and they will turn it into something. They've got a knack for getting rallies going in situations like last night.

Tonight Lester takes the mound, always a concern. Will the "Good" Jon Lester show up, or the "Bad" Jon Lester? Kind of like how Bears fans felt about Rex Grossman when he was QB, always wondering whether Good Rex or Bad Rex would line up under center.

Yeah, Girardi fucked up big-time. Unless the Bombers get Ring #28 this year, he'll regret not challenging that call for the rest of his life.

That aside though, I have faith that my Yankees will prevail. Long live the Evil Empire...

Looks like the Nationals borrowed a page from the Cubs, spun a little come from behind magic with a couple of well timed homers with men on.

I expected them to split the first two games, it's the next 3 that count. Down to what amounts to a regular season series.

I'll try not to let that uneasy feeling of 1984 creep in, when the Cubs went up 2-0 on the Padres at Wrigley and then proceeded to lose the next 3 in San Diego. That was back when the NLCS only went 5 games instead of 7.

The first comment on that youtube clip is pretty funny:

"I use this clip on Civil War sites. Is that wrong?"

Well that wasn’t expected. Congrats to NYY.

A good pitching matchup and we got out gameplanned.

That

Sucked.

Congratulations to the Cleveland Indians for a tremendous, record-setting season...but enough about all that.

ALL HAIL THE EVIL EMPIRE!!!

What's that old saying about all teams start the post-season 0-0?

Some teams just can't get out of their own way; others, like the Nationals need a but of luck (playing with the flu and pitching a record game??). Some teams seem destined.

Yeah, not so much. We would prefer the Yanks over Cleveland to get to the Show. Should be a good set of games.

ALL HAIL!!!

I've never seen Girardi that stressed out like he was last night. Almost like his job depended on it.

I was speaking with a gentleman whose son is currently playing in the Astro's organization. He told me that ALL the players wear some sort of sensors system that constantly monitors their every movement while at practice. Then those movements (throwing/batting/running etc) are analyzed everyday for optimum performance. Pretty hi-tek stuff.

Earlier in the year vs. Houston, it was like men playing against boys....the 'Stros looked that good. Hopefully it's different this time around.

Go YANKEES!!
