Sharkman, you should get yourself an AR running that 9mm supercomp or whatever you're using in the raceguns. I've been tempted to go 9x23Win in an AR a time or two, but then I sober up and recognize how silly it is to get a carbine sized pistol(unless I was doing VBSS or some other specific shit). I couldn't help myself. Pulled the trigger and bought one yesterday. Have to get them an FFL to ship it to tomorrow. I got the 8 inch with the folding "brace". The fact that it fits in a backpack just speaks to me. Now Im gonna need a 9mm suppressor for it and a Vortex dot and I should be set.

My wife bought one for me just about 2 years ago for my Bday- I love the damn thing..... Great investment- As for the USPSA i dont bring her out for that - I like to run only production and keep it as close to what i carry on a daily rather than run some tricked out comp gun.... The dudes running the PCC are burners but in a pistol comp seems cheesy

Sharky, I'd be interested to know if it's worth SBRing or having my FFL order the factory SBR variant.

I bought one a year and a half ago. SBR. Sent the barrel to Innovative arms so that they could cut, port and thread it for their integral can. I have no plans to shoot it unsuppressed but if I did I would buy a new barrel from Sig*.

The MPX runs all ammo I can feed it but there is no need to run subsonic ammo. I shot it next to an HK MP5SD. The owner of the HK was impressed with how quite it was. Here is a video of the owner of Innovative Arms shooting one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRqzo7graMc

*the wait time for the can means you have a weapon you can't shoot (cut and ported barrel= loud and mean). It might be better to have the extra barrel if you have the extra cash.

I just switched from the collapsible to the skeleton folder. Fits in my backpack perfectly. Barrel is wicked easy to swap out and with the 4 inch barrel fits in a briefcase nicely.

Will update once it gets in and I can get some rounds through it. I got the 8" 9mm "Pistol" version with the "brace" folding stock.

Still Waiting

I ordered a 4.5" G1, MPX SBR and a Liberty Mystic X multi caliber suppressor back in Oct. Still waiting on the flood of pre ATF Rule 41F applications to be finished so I be approved and remove it from purgatory. I've shot a few pistol variants, etc. and really like it. The Wilson Combat AR9 SBR and War Sport WS-9 PDW are pretty nice as well. They take Glock mags as well.

That is a good option. That or the Spitfure AR, like I just ordered if you want the Prismatic effect if you have any sort of astigmatism.

Like how he does the drop test in the review.

If youre going to go with a Vortex product, take a look at experticity.com

If you qualify for their services (youre a vet.. you do..), you just need to take a couple of online "tests" about the products they sell.. and you can get some pretty decent discounts on stuff...

theyve got the SPARC II AR for $155 right now.. and the SPARC II with the multi-height system (not the AR variant.. just the SPARC II..) also for $155...

I still haven't figured out that damn website. I have a profile. Took their little challenges etc but still don't see how to order anything.

I am looking at the Innovation Arms integral suppressor model. I plan on setting money aside until Christmas and getting myself a "gift".

https://www[DOT]innovativearms.com/p...-mpx-integral/

^ same one jackofspades mentioned above.

That looks really nice. I wonder if you can have innovative arms pin/weld/etc the monocore to the barrel --- that way it would only command 1 tax stamp. Similar to what Gemtech did with it's integrally suppressed 10/22 takedown barrel ---- you can remove the sleeve for cleaning the baffles, but the stack remains pinned to the barrel.

If you are purchasing the "pistol" variant, then it is only a 1 stamp gun. They use the 8" barrel MPX model and cut it down. Even with the can, it is not 16", so the SBR version will always be 2 stamps.

Right gotcha. But I'm saying that if they simply pinned the suppressor to the 'pistol' barrel, it could bring the rifle to legal length to not be classified as an SBR. Thus you could have a suppressed "SBR", with an actual stock, while only paying for one stamp (for the suppressor) and losing no functionality.

My understanding of the law is that if you purchase a pistol, you can convert it back and forth between pistol and rifle configuration as many times as you want. Provided you follow ATF's rules while you're in your home with no one around watching you at all.
