Appleseed

It is an older 10/22 Target made 09/1998 so it has the metal trigger group and looks to be unfired. Simmons .22 Mag 3x9 AO, Viper rings and a 1" Tech-Sights sling. My first shoot is mid November so I have time to practice. It has been a bit since I started this.

Anyone else attend these events? Thoughts?

I've been looking locally for a 22 Mag rifle for critters around the house and my arch nemesis, the crow.

I haven't found much yet. Not necessarily looking for a new rifle. I ran across a Savage bolt action, have passed on it. Still looking.

Good luck with your shoot!

I have read about them, but never participated. I have a Kimber Competition single shot with a ton of reticles for the front sight. Bought it at CMP a few years back.

That 10/22 is a piece of Americana, very nice.

That IS a nice rifle, Expat. Bull barrel?
No experience with Appleseed events/instruction but have heard universally-good feedback.

1RS, perfect excuse for a Savage 24 .22mag/.410 or 20ga.
The only combo I've sold. Mine was like this, hammer select and pretty similar condition:

The barrel is cool looking as it has a rifling pattern to it. It is a no taper .920" dia, 20" target crowned barrel.

I would like to shoot Rifleman at my first event, but I have heard it is not easy, but that's ok. I figure it's a good review of basics.

They are an apolitical group, that teaches fundamental skills. Almost all I have read says it's a good program with good people attending and teaching.

The best .22 I ever had was a Marlin 81 copy by JC Higgins. My dad gave me that gun when I was about 7 and had it for years but lost it in a pawn shop when I was going to school. I needed the money for food and gas. I hope to get a Marlin 81 one day. I check them out on Gunbroker all the time. Great little rifle!.
