The SWAT team out here did a dog & pony but I didn't go to that theater. They were playing around with their EOD robot and damn if it didn't head off into the multiplex and shut down "Gigli".

The movie is just a good old fashoned shoot'em up, it is nice to see the cops as the GOOD GUYS once in a while.

You don't know Jack shit. You don't know when to shut up. You've been given second and third chances and been put on probation here, yet you have no learning curve at all. It is about time a "little birdie" boots you out. Your wasting our time, much like you did in the Marine thread.

Fun Ride

It was a fun ride. Great action. Decent acting. Nice locals. It is def, an Action Adventure movie not a Docu-Drama. Or even a drama. But do you really want to see a movie the accuratly depicts SWAT tactics. I mean you sometimes in movies see it done right but it happens so fast you never really notice. I quess I would like to see a good film about a guy in SWAT and about how good human beings they are. A movie with a good plot and character and stuff. With SWAT in the background. Like Tears of the Sun. It wasn't about Navy SEAL's but it did a simi decent job IMO that depected the SEAL's as good guys.

just my .02

eh?

Heard they shot the outdoor range scenes up where I went through weapons training? A buddy recognized the inside of one of the lecture rooms, red and white barricade posts, and backdrop of the hills behind the targets...

LAPD SWAT being filmed at an LA SHERIFF weapons range for academy recruits??..say it ain't so Sierra1!

Just started looking at this thread. Movies generally don't interest me until they are available for viewing in my house. I hate crowds and i do not want to sit with a bunch of kids and wannabe gangsters for $8.00.

Agentcg,

You better be glad that the guys in this forum are tolerant. This comes from the restraint LEO's have to use on the street. If you were in one of the military SPECOP forums you would be a purple, gelatinous mass of goo. The thought of basing your impressions of actual SWAT methodology on movies you have seen and the books you have read is idiotic. You are showing your age and ignorance.

A ton of good advice and knowledge are posted in these threads. You may read some good "You shoulda been there" stories. The real information passes by way of PM, e-mail, and personal contacts during training. I have gotten to know several of these guys through posts and PM and I respect the abilities that they can share with me.

You have nothing to offer us with your opinions. You do not have a basis of experience...yet. If you plan to enter the LE field; super. Ask well thought out questions and research. Please do not offer opinions or suggestions here. When you can honestly say that you have experienced a for real callout...then you will have something to offer us.

Fella's...sometimes I think we may be too nice. Political correctness sucks; don't it?

Saw it last night with my son, have to say we enjoyed it. Nice plug for Kimber with the new TLE II. For some reason I knew that they would make one of the characters a SEAL or other high speed individual and Samuel L. as a former Recon I got a chuckle out of that scene.Good action and no friggin love story.GTG.
