Clock Question

I have a 'Grand Mother' wind up clock that chimes seven hours behind the correct time. Is anyone familiar with this type of problem? Is there a way I can get the chimes and the time in sync? I tried turning the chimes off and resetting them to go off at the correct hour but they were still off seven hours.

If possible try pulling the hour hand off and reposition it to the correct hour.

My wife bought a Grandfather clock at an estate sale in our neighborhood a few years ago and we immediately noticed it wasn't ticking or tocking correctly. We called a "clock guy" who gave it a tune up, lubed all internal parts and gave us a quick class on do's and don't. It's been GPS accurate since.

tried a couple of online fixes with no luck. Will look at moving the hour hand. Nearly ready to use a glock on the clock.

You will use the Glock on the clock,
if it won't tick-tock?

Go with the Glock. It seems your only other option would be move to the time zone the clock works correctly.

It's a Grandmother clock.

Women are always late.

Be patient like the rest of us and just wait for the chimes.

Fix action for this clock is to move the hour hand a minute or two beyond the last hour chimed and stop the clock, do not pass the minute hand; restart when actual time catches up. Be sure to move the hour hand before the 15 min.mark chimes.
