Cant wait to stretch a string. I stepped out yesterday morning to take the wife's yappy dogs out and there were two does standing across the street looking at me.

Out here on the Coast Range for a job and the hound earns his keep again. Only one keeper out of the trip mainly because it's going to have to be a pretty nice horn to pack around in this brush. His first Roosie and blacktail sheds to boot.

So I'm helping the wife cut up our garden peppers for freezing when she says "You should go out hunting. We're out of venison."
I gear up, grab the crossbow, and go out to the stand where the trailcam shows the most activity. Had barely settled in for a half hour when a group of does wandered in. Took my time, picked the largest one, and nailed it. Took a while to track it, but found it, dressed it out, and messaged the wife "We have venison." As I'm dragging it out of the woods she turns up with our always dependable neighbor to help.

Hung it on the game pole in the front yard pines for the night. Neighbor and I will butcher it tomorrow.

Satisfactory end to the day, filling the first of four tags.

Cyclists have near miss with deer. Audi doesn't. Pretty cool video.

Oh, deer! Camera captures animal flying toward cyclists after being hit by car

Me and CH 2018 Elk Hunt

We had a great time! Got into Elk every day except for one weird day. Got into shooting range of a few nice bulls but just never had a shot. Also, called in a Navy EOD guy on I think our first or second day.

Second picture is Cleared Hot to my left ready to shoot the bull in the last pic.

The last picture is a 6x6 in the brush directly in the center of the picture. He came walking into our cow calls, hung around looking for more cows to add to his harem, then walked away.

I love all the hunting pics, especially the elk hunt. Good job Lefty on your venison. I probably will not have time to hunt again. I cancelled my trip up to the Willow flowage for fish and deer...bums me out~
