Job Introduction:
The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Data Center Security Officer II. As a Data Center Security Officer II, you will conduct in depth searches of people and property at various checkpoints inside of the facility and perform other duties as specified in post orders. The Data Center Security Officer II is trained to work at all posts at the assigned site location and is available to work all shifts, but will specifically train to be a control room operator or be a back up to the control room operator. When working as a CRO, it is the officer's responsibility for maintaining a constant vigilance of activities both inside and outside the data center facility by use of closed circuit television and visual observation, operate control panels to track ingress/egress on the facility, update and maintain all requisite forms, logs, and reports. Maintain a high degree of knowledge of General Post Orders, Policies and Procedures, and the access control requirements.

Role Responsibility:
• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Patrol interior checkpoint area diligently and conduct in depth searches of people and products as required via Post Orders
• Observe and report and suspicious activity
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to promote physical security and safety; watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Contribute to communication and awareness of security policies and issues as needed; warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter checkpoint and monitors entrances and exits; observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Vigilantly monitor access control system and CCTV system
• Dispatch security team to alarms and document all related activity
• Monitor radio transmissions and communicate via radio

The Ideal Candidate:
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a current and valid Unarmed Security Officer/Courier License issued by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, certification in each of the following:
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • First Aid
• Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
  • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
  • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
  • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch
  • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service

Other Requirements
•Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
•Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
•Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language fluently
•Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
•Must be able to operate radio, telephone equipment and console monitors
•May not have immediate family employed at this client
•May not concurrently be assigned to any other company or organization at any time during the Term of the respective Work Order that may compete with any data center business
•Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
•Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
•Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
