I used to know a guy called Stiffie, because he forgot to pull one of the pins (the one with the big red REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT ribbon) from his nose gear before a flight. Since he couldn't retract the nose gear, his buddies said it looked like his plane had a stiff boner. Oddly enough, this was after Tailhook, too.
