That is nice. I really like the properties of O2 tool steel as well, good choice.

Thanks, the wood is from an Osage Burl.

Had a nicer piece I used for a hunting knife, with the same handle style.

Thanks, yes O2 is a good steel, I like that I can harden and temper it myself with a simple forge and oven, so no expensive gear needed. Also very simple to control the temper to keep it harder for skinning knives, or slightly softer for bushcraft knives. Of course it is not quite as pretty as pattern welded/Damascus steel. Im working on a Bowie style knife at the moment, just need to get a bigger bucket for the quench tomorrow as it is longer than the ones I have done so far.

Is there something behind the knife in the photo? I can see the story when I see black, just shadow or some sort of backdrop?

Just curious. By the way, nice knife!

Got one of these as well to hold on to for my son's commissioning gift.

And have a custom order I'm waiting on from Andy right now.

Great blades

One of our new models I call Pathogen. The scales are Voodoo Resins Caged Devils' Cut and a photo doesn't due them justice.

Thank you both, I was getting tired of G10 scales and decided the new Bowie design was the perfect spot for the new scales. The resin scales are surprisingly grippy to be so shiny.

The honeycomb looks cool on the spine too.

Not yet, I still want to experiment with the finish on the scales. I'll give you first shot at it when it's finished.

Carter Cutlery

Carter Cutlery
Have you seen these knives? They are expensive but very interesting.
He trained in Japan for 6 years in traditional bladesmithing then worked there making knives for another 12 years.

His knives are hand forged and multilayer with thin edge profiles.
Here is a video of a test of one of his utility knives.
