my son is in mosul, anyone with info on the situation on the ground?

My son is in Mosul. He is a 0331 in support of SF guys. Any thoughts or ideas as to what he could be doing? Dont want to give his Battalion info for opsec reasons, but pm me if you could have some insight as to why he might be up in Mosul away from the main body. Im a former Marine 0341 and trying to get some intel and situational awareness. I havent been in the game since I deployed to Iraq in 2004.

I doubt that they took a lone 0331 and sent him out with SF. I could see him supporting with his platoon or company, and I have seen that happen first hand. But, not just one guy unless he had some special skillset.

I can understand your concern though. Best wishes.

He is in good spirits. I talked to him via satphone and heard some pretty good fireworks in the background. He said it was about 200m down the street. He said he was bored and wanted to shoot somebody already. Lol yup, nothings changed in our beloved Corps.
