Richard Jewell, Atlanta 1996 Olympics Bomb finder

Remember him. Well Clint Eastwood just made a movie about him. Great timings. Shows corruption of Media and FBI..

I’m glad another generation will get to know the story of this hero and how the corrupt FBI and media did everything in their power to destroy him.

From '97-'99 , one of the many teams I serviced the underwater equipment for was , HRT, Quantico. The gear I received that first time from HRT was filthy, like it had not been cleaned since the '96 Olympics!

The 2001 anthrax case was also a colossal FBI/Mueller/Comey failure. Mueller was the Director at that time and Comey was at DOJ.

This guy should have been throwing out the ball for the World Series. He ranks right there with the Duke lacrosse team when it came to getting screwed over...

That's been dead for a long time now. It's all about the agenda...and even more about the "clicks".

You can throw Steven Hatfill in the group of Americans whose reputation was destroyed by the sheer incompetence of the FBI and DOJ.

Probably worthy of another thread but I'm genuinely curious what the fix to the current state of the "media" is? It seems to me it's the biggest threat we face. The radio can perpetually play shitty tunes, but the next thing you know you're humming along to it...

The wife and I just got back from this (do you see the Tuesday $5 theme, lol)
Great movie, IMHO.
Yeah, it's slow, yeah, it drags, but the story it tells, and the way Clint tells it is great.
I know nothing of what constitutes an actor winning an Oscar, but if the actors who play Jewell or his lawyer aren't considered, it's bullshit.
Sitting there watching it, all I could think of was, the FBI and MSM today against POTUS. Vile fucks all of them.

I strongly agree. We just finished watching the film, and they knocked it out of the park.

I believe there are at least two or three Oscar-worthy nominations.

Thumbs up

I saw the movie yesterday and would highly recommend it. Like all of Clint's movies, the film was really well done. The guy who played Jewel's lawyer was great, hell all of the actors in the main roles were great. Worth the cost of admission.

Just watched this movie... Very very good.. It shows how the media and FBI railroaded this man without evidence, or any kind of detective work right off the rip..
Very sad that the government/media can do this, and still does it to the little people...

Panicking wasn't limited to the Bush administration. That dude got hosed, RIP.

Edit: I see S. Hatfill is in this thread too! X-Thread points!

I was pretty focused afterwards on search for Eric Rudolph as it wasn't too far from me. I think anyone who has tried "surviving" in the NC woods could have told them, staking out dumpsters is a very good idea.

Or who was trying to survive as a poor college student. Daughter got real good at dumpster diving her first two years in college.

Her and a couple of her friends got all the local Food Store's schedules for the good dumps. Two would keep watch while one dived with a flashlight.

She said they pulled a lot of good veggies. City got wise and started making the stores lock up the dumpsters.

My reaction when she told me "cool" - wife's "Oh noooooo."
