Need new workout music

My gym plays some horrible music so headphones are a must. My old favorite is the first Transplants album, but I'm getting tired of it and Pandora is hit or miss so I'm looking for some suggestions.

What's old is new again, in my case. Just added a number of 1980's Motley Crue and Van Halen songs to my playlist. Helped during the long run yesterday.

Dogwasher- Good one. I've got a Motley Crue CD around here somewhere. From the good ol' days when I used take my discman to the gym.

Today was a long, slow, distance day so I listened to the whole Johnny Cash Americana IV album during my run. It's a great album, but it's only about 50 minutes long and not all the songs are workout material. Then I tried the Type O Negataive Bloody Kisses album and that was no good because it has too many abrupt tempo changes.

Prodigy is my favorite workout music - good tempo with a hint of aggressiveness.

+1 on Spotify - it is much better than Pandora, because you can search for specific albums or artists. You get a 6 month trial period - I would at least give it a shot!

Yeah that's another good one! I'll definitely be listened to smack my bitch up the next time I'm there.

I'll check out Spotify. It's probably cheaper than all the weird stuff I buy on impulse from iTunes.

Slayer-raining blood or Slayer-black magic is my jam for deadlifts. You can never go wrong Pantera either.

I Tunes has a large workout download mostly by diffrent Beats Per Minute. One album download was some 100 songs for about $9. So I downloaded to my I tunes website, that further downloaded to my I Pod, and I Pod Touch. So far I have downloaded some 19 hours for exercise. I mostly use the music when I exercise on my elliptical, otherwise exercising would really be BORING!

Create a mix in Itunes.
My gym mix touches some Rage Against The Machine, Tool, Misfits, Nine Inch Nails, Rancid, and some old Blink 182.

I like some of the Transplant songs off of Haunted Cities as well.

The Sword is a pretty good metal band to work out too. They sing about vikings and stuff and have some great instrumentals.

Just downloaded a few metronome tracks from itunes to work on upping my foot turnover and cadence while running. My cadence stands right now at around 166-168 steps per minute, so I'm going to run to 172 for a few weeks and then up it to 180. Boring? Yes. Helpful? We will see.

I wonder if they have something that will help you keep your running pace like a 7 min mile pace or 6 min mile pace? Not sure what that would be per beats a minute but I assume 185-190 beats? Any suggestions?
