Read a few cool articles (didn't bookmark though) on how HK residents are communicating when the .gov killed Cell and Internet:

Firechat, Bridgefy, HKMapLive (plotted .gov forces - Apple and Google caved and removed it - Android apps can be side-loaded though, you just need the .apk) and FM HT's like the Baofeng BF-F8HP. Pretty cool.

...and they can / are accessing the internet via Ham radio - it takes some skill, but is very doable, in a secure way
