The fact that the actual guys who did the deed are playing themselves is just fantastic. I'll be taking my kids to see it opening day, or soon thereafter.

My wife just told me that she wants to see this.

She never wants to see any action flick.

A movie about honor and courage , that portrays veterans, friendship and sacrifice in a positive light - what is not to like?

I am seeing poor reviews. Is it as bad as the reviewers are saying?

It seems like a story that would be difficult to make into a full-length movie. It's like when (and I'm not comparing the topics) they try to make a five minute SNL skit into a full-length movie; it's not always going to be a hit.

I haven't seen it yet, but absolutely will go, despite any poor reviews.
I'd rather see a poorly put together movie about real life heroes than a well done one about the shit most movies are about.
As far as I'm concerned, those are stories that need to be told. Where good people do good things for selfless reasons. Maybe I'm old and cranky, but I tire of the narcissistic bullshit that is 90% of the others

The wife and I watched it yesterday. She liked it a lot, I thought it was OK. Like somebody said earlier, it's kind of hard, taking a true event that probably lasted 10 minutes, and making it into a movie. Plus, the dialogue was a little wooden, but, most likely, that was because real people, not actors were speaking. The scenes seemed a little disjointed as it flashbacked and tried telling the story of the 3 friends how they met, etc. But, by doing that there is a gap in years that is kind of confusing.
All in all, not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Great story that should be told.
If you want to wait for it on DVD or cable, the small screen won't take away from it at all, like some action movies it would.

Eastwood wanted to have as many people that were there for the event, also be in the movie. I really dig that, but it can mess with a lot when you have non-actors recreating the story.
