I'm currently serving in the USN as an IS, haze gray and underway. Only been in a little over a year and a half now.

I originally joined with the intent of going to BUD/S, but never got a contract due to bad eyes. I'm currently working on getting PRK surgery so I can ultimately make it out to Coronado.

Thanks for having me onboard.

Navy Civilian/DOD employee here, working in the C5I department of a 3-star headquarters.

I'll probably lurk for a while before starting in with a post or two.

Glad to be here.

Former humint/linguist guy with 2 OIF deployments and some other Middle East experience. Been a civilian for a couple of years and thinking about going back active soon, what exact service and job still undecided. Just reading here the past few weeks, I've learned alot of stuff that I wish I had known as active duty as it would have made me more effective at supporting trigger-pullers.

Hello all, I am currently in AFROTC at my college and will be a 2nd Lt. in roughly 3 years.

I am very interested in more info on CRO, Security Forces and Intelligence.

I would also love the opportunity to get feedback from Senior NCO's and other enlisted personal in order to really know how to act and treat my enlisted Airman.

thank you for your time.

Good Morning.

Firstly, thank you for allowing me to join.

I stumbled across your site HOPING to gain information about where my new husband was coming from..being quite un-familiar with the military life and what he went through. In addition I am working on my degree in psychology and want to really specialize in PTSD, hopefully work at the VA next door to us.

I am just soaking up knowledge, now. Thank you, again for this privilege!

Hey Guys. I just DEP'd into the army as a 68W. I'll be doing 3yrs 7months ( maybe more ). I'm interested in persuing becoming a W1 once I'm in, although I'm not sure about time remaining requirements and such. I'm mainly here to lurk, but I may ask a few pointed questions later.

If any 68W's have the time and are interested I'd love to get a PM from you and get some advice on what I can do to become a better 68W! I ship Oct 5.

fng first post

Howdy all. I found this website lastnight while trying to locate some old friends from days gone by. I am a former USAF SERE Instructor (now called specialists), class 83-01.

After serving one enlistment, looked to greener pastures and went to work in KSA teaching SERE on an FMS contract with the Saudi Air Force. I worked there from 86 to 01. Ran a 1 day desert orientation for numerous American, British and Kuwaiti forces during Desert Shield and got to know the 5th SF Sharkmen. I would really like to get ahold of 2 or 3 of those guys. I haven't talked to any of them since the mid 90s. Anyone still in touch with them can verify with me through pm.

Glad I found the forum. Thanks.

I have been lurking around on this board for several weeks now and the information is outstanding.

I am finishing up my B.S. in Finance this December and am in the delayed entry program for 37F, psychological operations. I am really looking forward to the experience.

Thank you to all who made this board possible.

Former Marine Scout/Sniper. Out in '05, recalled in '07, out again '09. Currently pursuing contracting opportunities overseas for which I'm qualified. Slowly losing my mind awaiting DoS security clearance in order to deploy.

I've been lurking on this site for months, trying to soak up as much info and advice from BTDTs currently contracting overseas. Trying to keep my 'finger on the pulse' of what appears to be a rapidly changing industry. In addition to information regarding TTPs, gear recommendations, and training tips, I'm also interested in the less exciting part of the contracting lifestyle, i.e. medical insurance, taxes, life insurance, business structure to protect personal assets (LLC vs. S-Corp), etc.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Hello Everyone,

I've visited these boards often in the past and found alot of the information useful. I am very weary of boards and such, but some recent comments and the replies by members here made me feel better about signing up. I get quite a laugh out of a PSD guy describing himself as an "operator" or calling PSD runs "missions". It's like the guy we all know in the CAC office, he's not there beacuse he is out on a mission. LOL. I never remember calling myself a operator while I was in the military why the hell would I want to do that now as a civilian military contractor....Too many people drinking thier own Koolaid.

Anyway.. thanks for allowing me on board. I am a old 3/75 guy, ex-South Florida cop, and I have been into contracting since FEB 2002. (DYN/TC/BW).... Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan... (all in that order).

Thanks again and be safe.

Greetings,

I am a former USAF airman who went through USAF PJ/CCT OLH AMCOS back in 92. I did not continue through the entire pipeline to wear the beret. I then went into avionics.

I spent the following years getting a degree from UGA and worked as in the civilian world for many years.

I recently worked for Dyncorp and now I am in Iraq working for SOC.

Thanks for allowing me to join the group.
