BAD BRAINS

100% deserving. HR is as intense as it gets!

Saw them at a place called The Mad Monk in NC when I was at SOI. I think that place burnt down.

One of the best frontmen of all time, in any genre. Unfortunately, Paul's dealing with several debilitating health issues these days and can no longer perform.

If I remember correctly, the Mad Monk had a fire in the early 90's and moved to another location before closing for good around '95 or so. Very cool club to see live music at...

B5R, I see a young Johnny Rotten in your pics.

Is that a Ramones T shirt?

Haven't been home in a year or more
I hope she holds on a little longer
Sent a letter on a long summer day
Made of silver, not of clay
I've been runnin' down this dusty road

I've been trying to make it home
Got to make it before too long
I can't take this very much longer
I'm stranded in the sleet and rain
Don't think I'm ever gonna make it home again.

And the first year or two I was hanging out, I had strict curfews and missed a lot.
But yeah... CBGB, The Ritz, Gildersleeves, Peppermint lounge, Danceteria, and even the Reggae lounge all did shows you might have bumped into me at in those days.
This was teenage B5R in the early 80's...
Ah, the original Reggae Lounge. One of the first clubs with metal detectors. The shit we did in there back in the day...well, nevermind.

Anyway, great pics and great T-shirts. Ultraviolence was the shit and the Clash and the Cramps are legendary.

Rest in peace, Joe Strummer and Lux Interior...

This site never ceases to amaze me. I'm assuming you are speaking of Pete Parada. He did awesome work with Face to Face and Saves The Day as well.
