re your post

Fun times indeed, remember Leonard's Losers?

I'm concerned about the injuries as well. As to the attitude problem, I think Saban and ACs will effect an attitude adjustment and we will win out. I concur about Auburn, you know as well as I do that the Iron Bowl can turn on a dime.

As to paying student athletes, most of the kids you seeing playing on Sat. (Div. 1 A) are on scholarship, in a sense they are paid.
No, they aren't paid.

They are offered a scholarship, which can be revoked at any time after they start school. They don't live up to expectations, the coach simply doesn't like them, they can be axed in a heartbeat.

In a sense, they are like employees at will. Not every athlete is offered a guaranteed 4 year scholarship, most of them are considered 1 year renewable.

Given the amount of money generated by a football program, and how the people at the top (especially coaches. Saban makes more than any head NFL coach, as well as the college president!) profit from their labor, there is no reason at all not to pay them.

Also, if a player generates a lot of buzz and profile, he should be able to benefit from his image and his name.

Someone else is paying for their education, books, meals, etc. In a sense they are paid. Not really an issue in my opinion.

They are unpaid labor, simple as that. The universities and their various schools already exist, so they figure, "what's a few more bodies in the classroom?" The value a top football team and its players add to a school far exceeds their "labor" costs in the form of their educations.

That said, I will watch at least 6 squads of these indentured servants face off today. I hope at least one of the top 4 gets beaten, I figure Miami might have the best shot.

Shuffle that deck.

UGA is going to have to pull off one hell of a comeback if they want to stay #1. Auburn came to play on their home field.

It might be asking too much to see Alabama and ND lose, but Georgia is a start. Billdawg is probably into his second bottle of scotch right about now.

I see that Georgia just added a field goal, they'll have to really put their foot on the gas if they want to make up that ground.

Georgia was overrated to begin with. No surprise here.

Concur, I had a strong sense that Auburn would win, but not 40-17.
Over to ESPN for BAMA.

And one of the things that comes with those scholarships is a stipend...

But don't smoke in the stadium...
Geez that brings back memories.

I saw that video. She knew better because she looked like she was kind of hiding it across her lap. Police officer told her smoking in the stands wasnít allowed and to put out her cig. Looks like she said something to him then defiantly took a long drag & blew it out & stuck the lit cig in his face.

Not a good idea especially if you say youíre 60 and have neuropathy. Then when he went to take her into custody she resisted.

All she had to do was put out the cig.🤷🤷

I'm not a big follower of the SEC but I liked the idea of a strong Georgia team giving Alabama a run for its money. I think they can still play in the SEC CG, right?

ND is down on the road @ Miami 17-0 first half. After Ohio State ND is my only other team still in the hunt.

(Don't tell me - ND is overrated too. )

Notre Dame is overrated. Georgia already locked the SEC East, so they'll be playing in the Conf Championship.

I'm a ND fan and I didn't even think they were good enough to even be considered overrated. LOL.

Yeah, Georgia has won the east already.

Glad to see Miami doing well for Mark Richt.
