Course Instructors: Responsible for the instruction of a particular course or a specific function for several courses. Course instructors shall complete the formal training and certification requirements for an instructor. The Course instructor provides training, instructional support, and possesses skills in the methodology of curriculum and test question development, effective classroom instructional techniques, employment of training aids, student progress measurement strategies and course management.

-Shall have an in-depth knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods and techniques; analytical methods; and interpersonal relations practices.

-Shall have significant military leadership and training experience in providing and planning instruction aimed for a military audience. Particular emphasis on demonstrated leadership and emergency medicine capabilities in the classroom and field is required and deemed essential for training students with multi-cultural backgrounds.

-Shall assist in analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum for assigned courses, to determine the need for new or revised curricula. Will communicate with the Government Representative, Training Officer (TO) and Learning Standards Officer (LSO), other instructors, technicians, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers to assist in the development of new curricula on current and new TCCC guidelines, EMT, and paramedic procedures.

-Resolve conflicts of training resources between Operational, Communications and Maintenance related courses. Assist in revising, developing, and implementing long range plans to anticipate and incorporate new procedures and technological developments into the respective curriculums coincident with production.

-Provide training analysis and instructional support for various all trauma and emergency medical simulation devices and training aids.

-Evaluate training aids and provide recommendations to determine need for upgrades or
changes.

-Provide support in the inspection, preventative maintenance, modification, technological developments and operation of Special Operations Forces (SOF) medical.

-Provide program and technical support for various watercraft equipment and simulated weapon systems.

-Implement the following Naval Instructions: 5100.19, 3500.39, and 4790.4

-Upon completion of all specific criteria in accordance with COMNAVSPECWARCOM INST 3591.1C and designated in writing by the Commanding Officer, conduct duties as Range Officer In Charge (ROIC) and Range Safety Officer (RSO).

-Provide planning inputs to the Course Curriculum Model Monitor (CCMM) relating to the development, maintenance, or revision of their assigned course.

-Assist with coordinating the training program with all assigned personnel and maintain instructor-training records.

-Assist and support the instructor certification program and in coordinating the evaluation program.

-Conduct scheduled and unscheduled instructor quality of training delivery for contractor evaluations.

– Collect and analyze feedback from student critiques, course exams, and instructor feedback and provide training quality indicator summary data to the Learning Standards Office (LSO), Training Manager (TM) and the Course Curriculum Model Manager (CCMM).

-Comply with Navy policy and procedures in the use and responsibility of U.S Government
Fleet Fuel card program, per NAVSUPINST 4200.98A.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of one of each of the following combinations
of general experience and a degree in either Education, Business Management, Engineering
or Instructional Development.

-Shall have at least 2 years of instructor experience in a formal training environment.

-Shall have at least 2 years of experience as a Navy Enlisted Qualification (NEC9502) Instructor and be certified as a US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) or equivalent

-Shall have at least 2 years of experience in course curriculum management.

-Shall have at least been to a formal course in emergency medicine such as 18-D, SOCM, Independent Duty Corpsman, Physician’s Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.

-Shall demonstrate a working knowledge of the following Naval Instructions: OPNAVINST 5100.19 Series, Safety Precautions for Forces Afloat; OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series, Operational Risk Management; OPNAVINST 4790.4 Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) Manual

-Shall be able to qualify as a “High Risk Instructor” per guidelines set forth in OPNAVINST 1500.75 Series, Policies and Procedures for Conducting High- Risk Training. Courses taught incorporate the use of dynamic and static small arms “Live Fire” action during course of instruction.

-Shall be able to obtain and maintain current Driver’s License.

-Shall be able to obtain and maintain BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor.

-Shall be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
