I am currently with HHC 3rd ID. He definetly deserved it. My roomate was with PAO and did a story on him, great NCO. Since this Jan 05 rotation we have lost about 15 soldiers.

I met SFC Smith a couple times when I was with 3BCT and we came over to do some training at Stewart...if I remember correctly he OC'd one of my platoons. He seemed like a real sharp guy and intrested in coaching rather than playing the gotcha game.

A good man that will be missed.

The medal

I saw Bush present the medal t his family on the news His son age 11 accepted it because his Mom said he was the man of family. Well deserved and the family looked like good people. RIP Warrior

I don't know how many of you are familer with this publication but they had a very nice write-up on SFC Smith and his family.
