http://www.korean-war.com/Archives/2.../msg00058.html I had the privilage and honor to meet and work with Gen. Davis when he was the head of the Korean War Veterans Memorial advisory board back in '94-'95. He was a hell of a guy and I am proud to have known him. Gen. Davis and me at the foundery in New York where the statues were cast. (Statues can be seen in background).

General Davis visited Parris Island when I was in boot camp, and addressed our company. He was very humble and inspiring to say the least. I was surprised that he died just a few years later because he seemed years younger than his actual age. Rest in peace, sir, you earned it.

I was down at Stone Mountain with my pipe band for the highland games back in fall of 2001. Gen Davis came up to us and we chatted for a while. We had no idea who he was until he asked to take a picture with us. He hands me the MOH and asks me to help him put it on. Needless to say I was in awe and even more so when I read the citation about what he did to earn it. RIP Sir.

If you are ever get in Atlanta go to the “Patriot Museum”. They have a section devoted just to MOH recipients and General Davis helped set the museum up. They have a section just on him.
