Well deserved.

I was fortunate to have met him many times - at Benning and later when I was with the 2-502d (he commanded the battalion in Vietnam and came to visit almost every year). He and Bob Howard are two great examples of 'old' soldiers who continued to mentor the younger generations far past retirement. Sometimes I think what they both did after they served was more valuable that what they did while serving, which says a lot considering the accomplishments.
