I recall the honor I felt when SOTB responded to one of my first posts.

And as I read these tributes to him, I still find myself expecting any moment to see his avatar pop up in this thread.

A part of the very soul of socnet has passed on and things will never quite be the same.

RIP SOTB

My sadness is beyond words. I've been away from the I net for a few days, and came back to this. I've shared many similar views as Andy, and would have been honored to have served with him. I'm shaking, and it's hard to type. We all have a limited time on this earth, and I know Andy made the best of his. I'd like to write much more, but Andy would think it's GAY and tell me to drive on, so... RIP Bro, and I'll always be your clorox bearer. All my respect, GROG

^^ This was one where he and I actually agreed for the same reasons. I had a response in mind which I'm sure he would have found funny were he still with us, but out of respect for the situation, I'll refrain from posting it in this thread.

Wait wtf? How did I miss this? I got into it a few times with him, mostly about Israel, but he was always a gentleman when I PM'd him for some reason or other. He was posting here very recently, that really, really sucks.

My condolances to his family.

he called me on a lame sailor/marine joke when I was relatively new to the board....and then turned right around and gave me some good advice on a couple of things based on his expertise. Always wanted to meet him in person and never got the chance. RIP Marine.

Sorry to hear this. Rest in Peace brother. I hope his family gets through this as best as they can. Especially his daughter, he spoke of her quite often.
