Swollen Index finger

My right index finger is swollen to the extent that I cannot open it fully, nor can I close it. I see a couple of white dots over the knuckle.

No recent trauma to the finger

What might be the fix?

Is it warm to the touch? Discoloration?

You have an infection my friend. A trip to your family doctor or urgent care for, at a minimum, antibiotics would be the correct next step. Sooner rather than later.

Not sure what you got, but mrsa will fuck you up.

Wife had it, it didn’t kill her and she didn’t lose a finger. She went weeks before getting it checked. Hardheadedness runs on all sides of our families.

And don't keep us in suspense over the diagnosis, treatment protocol, prognosis and recovery.

Still swollen, looks like a fat German sausage-hurts like 10 mfrs-painful to type-

Saw our doctor yesterday, she called the ER, told them I was coming, had a blood draw, and an Xray, then on to the ER. We saw a 3rd year, then the ER Doc. They refused to drain it, put me on Antibiotics. Staph infection.

They had a little ultrasound gadget which the moved around my finger, it showed the problem was in the joint, it was cool.

Hurts like hell. They sent me home with Oxycodone.

Clarification-10 sadistic mfrs

Your finger needs to be 75% better tomorrow and 90% better in two days. If neither of these metrics have been met, you are on either the wrong antibiotics or carry the incorrect diagnosis.

Don’t wait it out longer, hoping it will get better. Your finger should be much better by tomorrow; if not, get another opinion. If you see red streaks starting to go up your arm, don’t wait until tomorrow.
V/R,
Danny

The two white dots can indicate a spider bite.
