Quick question!

It's just something I've been curious about for awhile now. I've heard alot about how John Chapman was the first Medal of Honor recipient to have his actions recorded on film. Now I know there were surveillance assets flying in Mogadishu on October 3/4, and I've seen footage of the assault on the target building and of the crash of the first Blackhawk. Does anyone know if there was any footage of Shugart and Gordon and their efforts at the second crash site?

Their bodies being drug down the street was enough for me. I don't think I'd want to see it. I've meet Gary Gordon briefly and my 1SG at the time was a friend of Randy Shugart. Kevin Connell, former BRC winner, CSM of 3rd Batt and RHOF member was close friends with the Shugart family.

Interesting question. While not filmed my friend was a witness to a MOH, Ia Drang. I believe he wrote a narrative as a witness

Thanks Sixgun. I was thinking that with all that I have read about the battle over the years, it was highly likely that somewhere there was at least some partial footage although it may have been destroyed or might be classified.

Seems like each time I find a new account of the Battle of Mogadishu, I learn something new.
